Lawmusiang Market

Iawmusiang is the largest Jaintia market as well as the commercial centre of Jaintia Hills. It derives its name from the sacred stone within he market brought from the village of Nangbahto its present location. The market is held once in an eight-week cycle. It consists of old and new markets. The old market situated at the centre of the town is a crowded and filthy hub with narrow streets. The people from the village come here to sell their wares. The new market is a much bigger one with organized space located at Lad-Thala Boh locality. The road leads to the stadium and football ground. It is a good market for local commodities.
